Tea Party Put to the Test

Facebook is a great place to get a sense of some folks are really thinking.

One guy from North Carolina posted something on Scott Brown.  Said he was a sellout and a RINO.  Said he betrayed the cause.

This guy is from North Carolina.   I love it when people from the South call politicians from the North RINOs.  Brown could have used the help in the campaign against Elizabeth Warren.

It's hard to be Republican in Massachusetts.  The guys from North Carolina make it harder for the guys from Massachusetts to survive elections.

Scott Brown was the original Tea Party candidate.  And then the Tea Party turned on him, because he wanted to win another election.

The Tea Party has some choices.

Two of its big stars, Marco Rubio and Pat Toomey, are getting ready to cut deals that are going to drive the Tea Party crazy.   Rubio is the lead on immigration and Toomey is the lead on guns.

Toomey wants to win statewide again in Pennsylvania and probably thinks that keeping guns out of the hands of crazy people is good public policy.

Rubio wants to win statewide in Florida again and getting immigration will help him to that.   Plus, he promised his mother that he would get something done.

This will be a big test for the Tea Party. Will they call Toomey and Rubio RINOs?  Will they threaten to run primary opponents against them?  Will they call them sellouts?

Does anybody truly care?

These guys were elected to legislate not pontificate.   That is what they are doing.   The Tea Party was formed to pontificate not legislate.

And there is the rub.
